Bible Verse of the Day November 6, 2026: Psalm 16:11
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” (Psalm 16:11, KJV)
It is Friday, and many of us are tired. This verse reminds us where lasting joy is found: not in the end of the work week, but in God Himself.
Meaning of the Verse
David describes three gifts that come from knowing God: direction, joy and lasting satisfaction.
“Thou wilt shew me the path of life”
God does not leave us to guess our way through life. He shows the path, often one step at a time, and it leads to real life, not just survival.
“In thy presence is fulness of joy”
Joy here is not a mood that depends on circumstances. It grows in the presence of God. “Fulness” means nothing is missing, because He is enough.
“At thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore”
The right hand is a place of honour and favour. God’s goodness toward us does not run out. It lasts “for evermore.”
Context
Psalm 16 is a psalm of trust. Just before this verse, David says, “I have set the LORD always before me” (verse 8). Joy follows the decision to keep God at the centre.
